With her design inspired by the plumb stem canal cruisers of the 1920s, she’s sure to leave a rich legacy in her wake as she sails the international waters of Lake Memphremagog. You’ll be greeted by the warm smiles of the captain and crew. Built in 2002, the Northern Star is 65 feet long and USCG inspected for 49 passengers. The on board restrooms are handicapped accessible. The main deck is climate controlled. Our Pub room is located on the lower deck and fantastic views can be had from the upper deck which is semi-enclosed. The Northern Star cruises at approximately 10 knots and offers incredibly smooth sailing. And be sure to visit the Pilot House where you can visit with the Captain.

Sunset Dinner Cruise
Join us on Friday nights to enjoy dinner on the lake! Dates vary so please check the booking website for current information. We partner with Hoagies Restaurant to bring you an special Italian meal, buffet style.

Sunset Cruise with Live Entertainment
Unwind and kick off your weekend on Saturday night with live music and fresh pizza on the water! Join us on Saturday evenings to enjoy tunes from Northeast Kingdom musicians while taking in an early sunset over Lake Memphremagog. Your ticket includes delicious pizza right on board, featuring options like garlic veggie, meat lovers, plain, and pepperoni to enjoy alongside the music. Whether you are relaxing on the open-air upper deck or catching up with friends, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer night.

International Canadian Cruise
You are in for an extremely special, one-of-a-kind excursion that can only be found here on Lake Memphremagog! We’ll navigate a steady course over 20 miles north into Canadian waters. Take in the shifting scenery as you pass by Owls Head Resort, Molson Island, Abbaye de Saint-Benoit-du-Lac, and the beautiful shorelines and homes of Lake Memphremagog.
The historical narrative on the boat is provided by Professor Emeritus of Canadian Studies and History, Douglas Coutts, who will share fascinating facts about the lake's rich heritage while you enjoy a delicious onboard meal.

The Northern Star partners with over 15 local restaurants to offer our Private Charter clients an opportunity to build a unique catered meal experience. Our partners offer menu selections consisting of Austrian, American Comfort, Barbecue, Italian, and Mexican cuisine all sourced from local farms. Our staff will guide you through the various options available for your special event and help you create your unique experience. The Northern Star offers for private purchase a selection of hearty craft beers, wonderful wines, and crisp champagne for every occasion in our pub area! We also offer water, tea, soda and other non-alcoholic beverages. Due to State of Vermont licensing regulations, we do not allow any outside beverages brought aboard the vessel for a private charter. We accept debit and credit cards.

There are three enclosed climate-controlled decks and two sun decks. We have handicap accessible bathrooms and ample tables and chairs. We also have a 45 inch flat screen on main deck, 55 inch flat screen on upper deck and sound system to complement your special event needs.

The rates comprise of a private charter fee and a meal fee based on menu selection and your chosen restaurant partner. All beverage selections are available for purchase. Private Charter reservation includes complete use of the Northern Star facilities, equipment with a dedicated service staff, and priority pre-boarding for all guests.
We offer private cruise events for parties up to 49 passengers. Design your special event for your family and friends, your business, or your organization with our staff today. We offer unique dockside gatherings, lake cruising, or a combination of both. All are available on a daily basis for a morning, lunch, afternoon, sunset, and evening event. Private Charters include a 2-hour lake cruise and total access to the Northern Star, complete with dedicated service staff. We even host private weddings!

No, you do not need to print your tickets. Simply check in at the ticket counter, or call ahead.

Our International is 4-hours long.

When a cruise gets canceled, we will notify you immediately and offer a refund or rebook to a similar cruise (at no cost to you).
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
We require a 24-hour notice for a full refund.

Yes. The only thing that stops us is heavy wind, lightning storms and/or poor visibility.

Unfortunately, we do not allow outside food or drinks on the boat.
We do have the Portside Snack-Bar where you can order food and bring it on board.
Additionally, we offer a small selection of wraps.

No, a passport is not needed. We do ask you to bring government issued Identification for anyone 18 years or older (anyone under 18 years of age does not need a government ID).
